I left off when we arrived in Oklahoma City to have the repairs made to our motorhome. There was only one
serious problem…a water leak in the fresh water tank that soaked the compartment where the tank is and the
adjacent one. The leak was fixed and the compartment flooring was replaced. Other than that, all of the repairs
that needed to be made were minor but involved getting some parts shipped to OKC. In all we were there for 16
days living at Lee’s RV City outside of OKC. We had chosen Lee’s RV City because the owner, Lee Litchfield, is
very generous with answering questions for owners of Newmar coaches on an online forum. We were
accommodated very nicely and didn’t mind the down time.
We left OKC and headed to Santa Fe, NM to see the family. We didn’t have as many days there as we had
planned due to the time the repairs took. Again I was enthralled with Madison and very impressed with what great
parents she has. While there we moved our few belongings that are not with us to a different storage situation.
Our ‘stuff’ is now in Albuquerque at the house of a generous friend. One of these years we will probably have a
land base somewhere and want to have the few things – like pictures - we have saved.
We left Santa Fe and moved the rig down to Albuquerque for the night to visit friends and were just in time as that
night it snowed 9” at Justin’s house in Santa Fe. In Albuquerque it only rained. The next morning we headed out
of town for Prescott, AZ where we were expected for Thanksgiving. Again this year we spent Thanksgiving at the
Phillips’ with Colleen’s family…there were 18 of us for dinner.
On Sunday following Turkey Day we moved down to Casa Grande to meet up with Larry and Joyce, with whom we
finished the Panama trip, and Kirk, the Loose Chicken that had to return early from the Panama trip. It was great
to get together with them. Kirk made a DVD with pictures from the first 3 months of the trip to give all of us and we
really enjoyed watching the scenes from the trip.
From Casa Grande we moved to Yuma where we currently are hanging out at the Cocopah Casino on their back
lot. We are having work done on the Jeep getting it back in shape after its one year abandonment while we were
gone to Panama…oil change, tires, tune up, replace a shock absorber, alignment, etc.
I am writing this on Friday, December 03, 2004…my 56th birthday….happy birthday to me!!!!
This must be my shortest travelogue on record and it was for the whole month of November!!!! Aren’t you glad
that I didn’t expound at length on the 16 days we spent at the RV repair facility!!!!!!
I promise that we will soon head for more interesting adventures…we just need some R&R…our intention, after
the holidays, is to go to Mexico for most of the winter with a side trip to California to see more family and to
Quartzsite the 19th –23rd of January.
